The beach can be a hopeful place.  It can also be the shore of a violent sea and the widow of a harsh climate.  “Messages” speaks to both.   I’ve spent much of my life on various shores, from protected refuges to man-improved environments which are ultimately destroyed by the very nature they try to reign in.   There is a cycle for both, one of giving/taking/beginning again.   Messages are left behind, hidden, with every change.

Exhibited at Ciel Gallery, Charlottesville, N.C. in their 2009 Contemporary Mosaic Art juried exhibition, Sept. 4 - Oct. 23, 2009 also included in Ciel's winter 2009/10 show, "Winter Whites"
